I reffered to a cage for the seamless tube and this for competition.
Needless to say that you dont want to use those kind of tubes on an exhaust or even a chassis.
Do not forget that a Caterham FIA bar is only homologated if you use the petty strut with it.
You can have the strongest steel but you can ruin it if you weld it in the wrong way.
in general the more difficult it is to bent a tube the more prone it will be to cracking due to vibration and flex that is why a chrome-moly chassis will be much more rigid but also more prone to stress cracks, it is up to the manufactor to deside the pro's & con's like lifespan of chassis and cost.
It is the truth that if you bend steel cold it makes it stronger because the steel moleculles get squashed together making it more dense hence stronger. Yes there is a certain degree in witch you can rectify the bent angle but only by a certain degree, but if any of the " specialists " can show me how to straighten a 90° bent on a tube i am very interessted to see it and for convienience i will bring a very large bin.
